Must See!
I don’t know about you, but here we have all been desperate to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie and it hits the big screen today, SO exciting! We can’t wait to delve into this wonderful fantasy world filling us with nostalgia. If you haven’t already seen the trailer, check it out now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjMkNrX60mA.
Makes you want an ‘Alice’ dress to wear for afternoon tea and cakes in the park doesn’t it? And now we have all this beautiful sunny weather why not organize a lovely little gathering on your local green spot, bring your best china cups and nip to M&S for some cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches. Now, while we can’t promise you a lead role in a Tim Burton movie, we can provide you with costume which is every bit as delicious. For example, pop into one of the boutiques to lay your eyes on our pink, silk Manoush dress – it’s a fairytale! Perfect for a tea party with any Mad Hatter.
Or how about our fast-selling Vivetta white collared Pierrot dress with the circle cut outs, great for a spring picnic. Or the See by Chloe cream collared beauty? Or then there’s Dress Gallery’s Carlotta, a cute 50’s looking pale blue cutie. All of these are sweeter than the cream cakes. Pop a bow in your hair, lay down a rug and start pouring.
A date with us is one you really can’t be late for, we’re selling out of pieces so quickly this season. Tick tock tick tock….
The Seven Stars
The pub is owned and run by TP’s mum, the bold and boisterous Roxy Beaujolais. She is the author of her own cook book and is responsible for the pubs rustic, simple home cooked meals. I haven’t had a chance to sample the food myself as yet, but it smells great.
This pub is a great place for a spot of people watching. You’ll find some real characters who frequent this place from barristers in pin-striped suits with their dogs, to musicians with their instrument cases. On the day I was in there were two ladies who looked liked they’d stepped right out from one of the 50’s movie posterss adorning the walls. Overall it’s a pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. So if you like your pub with a bit of character and like animals, I’d definitely recommend popping in to The Seven Stars. It’s a great place to have a well deserved rest after a spot of shopping in our Covent Garden shop.
Treat Your Feet!
Yay! There is cause for celebration. The snow has cleared and the temperature has risen (If only very slightly) Banish the wellies, Ugh boots (Sorry! Ugg fans) and any other clumpy styles of footwear to the basement. Put a spring in your step with these chic, elegant By Malene pointy shoes.
They are flat, comfortable, simple and stylish. If you are going to treat yourself to something special this January, make sure it’s these.
Not only are they absolutely beautiful, but they’re practical and classic enough to be a real wardrobe staple for years to come. They will go with everything and anything, are incredibly comfortable with a lovely vintage feel to them. The pointy toe is a refreshing alternative to the everyday round-toed ballet pump. They will elongate your line, lengthen your leg and are one of the most flattering shoe shapes around. Best thing about them? They are no longer the original price of £199 but £99.50!
Now slip them on and imagine yourself fluttering through fields of daffs listening to the birds and the bees….aaah!
Oh Brother…
Is it just us or has Celeb BB become the highlight of your January? If it’s not the tree of temptation, it’s Stephanie’s bitchy comments that have us hooked. Just like the Celeb house we have a huge mix and pride ourselves on the fact that there’s something for everyone. From girly, classic, adrogynous to quirky MC we have a huge variety that will keep all tastes satisfied.
Sov’s got a good edgy look with our bright green funky toywatch.
With Nicola’s penchant for all things girly she’d love our pink headphones.
Ivana is known in the house for never being seen without her make up, so maybe one of our cute metallic make up purses would interest her?
Even critical Stephanie would be lost for words if she saw our gorgeous Gabby Harris cashmere collection.
Despite Heidi’s slobby choice of garments in the house this past week, we at Fifi Wilson know that it is possible to be comfortable and stylish! We’re all for comfort but surely there’s no need for those offensive holey, ragged pieces of cloth Heidi decided to drown her body in. Our favourites include the YMC grey, cotton, softer than soft dress, the Set bat wing oatmeal cardigan and the Disaya faux fur cardigan.
Ok, so the whole of the UK may not be watching you 24/7 but you can still take pride in looking and feeling fabulous even if you are slobbing out in front of the TV with a family sized Galaxy. Never fear, for we’ve got just the things, but you’re going to have to be speedy, they’re lusted after even more than BB’s Corned Beef sandwiches.
With our next installment of celebrity mayhem just around the corner, pop into one of our boutiques or click onto our online store and browse through our cosy, comfy pieces perfect for watching any more ‘Hunk Off’ competitions – fingers crossed!
Going, Going…Very Nearly Gone!
I know they say ‘Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved….blah blah blah… and maybe that’s true but I’m afraid I can’t agree when it comes to clothes. I still drive everyone insane talking about the fabulous beige American Retro cardi with the lurex heart on the back and the fact that I’ll never be able to get my mitts on one pains me to this day. That was three years ago… but I’ve learned from my mistakes.
Right now, if you didn’t already know, it’s sale time. Every item of designer clothing in our stores is 50% off – we don’t mess around when it comes to sales. However, we thought we’d fill you in and let you know that every day we are selling out of lines and have had quite a few disappointed customers returning, cash at the ready only to find the coveted item has vamooshed. We opened our online store a few months ago and these online shoppers are a canny bunch and our stock is disappearing quicker than pleasantries on CBB. So if you’ve been umming and ahhing over something lovely we’re warning you, don’t leave it too late. Come and visit one of our boutiques or purchase online pronto. Daily we have customers asking if we can possibly get our hands on someting that we have sold out of, which is ney impossible. So, this really is your last chance to pick up our wonderful Autumn/Winter 09 pieces from Worldwide designers such as Gabby Harris, Disaya, Le Mont St Michel, Manoush and Sonia at 50% reductions. We assure you that you shall get lots of wear out of all of our clothes and let’s be honest…. when do you think we’re next going to have a hot day?!
So take it from one who knows from experience and have a good scan at our sale rails/web pages or risk months or years of kicking yourself/lusting over what you can no longer have and I didn’t even start about the Laundry Industry sequin heart cardi and the Claudie Pierlot bow tops……….

Everyone offers treats and reductions of some sort that make it well worth wrapping up and braving the cold for.
So take some time out and come along this Thursday if you happen to be in London (Sorry to those further!) between 6-8pm and we shall offer you some treats and 20% discount on all the clothes in our Chelsea Green shop. Starry, Starry Nights
Okay, so Halloween and Bonfire Night are over, the Christmas lights are up and every other advert seems to involve music with bells or discounted sofas bedecked with tinsel. However, let’s be honest we’re still going to have to wait a little while until we can open the goodies our loved ones have thoughtfully purchased from Fifi Wilson! So, to fill the void and brighten the days between now and the big one, our new delivery of French jewelery is sure to satisfy cravings for gorgeous trinkets and treasures. We have a selection of the prettiest, sparkly earrings and necklaces in our boutiques that will have you flocking like magpies. If you manage to resist buying all styles and colours for yourself, reasoning that your choice each day will depend on your mood, then why not be super organised and get some of the girls’ Christmas presents sorted. Satisfy all the young, hip chicks in your life with the fluo pink or purple or glittery star earrings. For the airy fairy type, go for where she keeps her head, the sparkly cloud. For the shrinking violet simply give her a mini purple disc pendant. It’s simple and subtle but sweet, like her right?!
That should give you a bit of a head start and calm any festive anxiety for the meantime. Only don’t do what I do, bury them in the back of the wardrobe, beautifully gift wrapped in Fifi paper and ribbon, only to forget completely what it is and for whom it was intended. Labels are the way forward!
All jewelery available in store.
Fashion Factor!
If you’re anything like us at Fifi Wilson then tonight you will all be racing home, throwing on your PJ’s, preparing your favourite snacks and a glass of wine and settling on the sofa for a Saturday night of X-factor. We’ve all gone a bit mad for it this year, partly because one of our staff is working as a stylist, so each week we pester her for all the inside info!
To make your X-factor weekend super special we’ve got a few treats in store that will give your nights in a little Xtra!
- Firsty, you MUST have a watch so that you don’t miss a second! If you don’t have one already check out our hugely popular Toywatches. Michelle Obama went for purple. Choose from an array of colours, styles and sizes. The most talked about watch of the year. They sell out as soon as they come in and we’ve just had a new delivery, so get one while you can!
- Our tailor made sweet packets are full of wonderful retro delights. We’ve included all those yummy originals such as refreshers, dip dabs and sweety necklaces. Perfect to keep you occupied during those annoyingly frequent ad-breaks.
- We’ve also had a great delivery of lovely pyjamas which are available in our boutiques. Just because you’re indoors doesn’t mean you have to let your impeccably stylish dressing slip. Either the delicate winter white or flowery fun matching sets shall keep you smart and comfortable and you can keep your tootsies toasty in our lovely Japanese socks for extra comfort.
- We have produced our own line of candles that are always selling out in store. These will set the mood for a peaceful night in and make your room smell delicious. So many customers constantly return to buy multiples of their favourite scent.
- Once the results are in you can retire to your duvet and slip on one of our silk eyemasks to soothe telly strained eyes.
With these Fifi must-haves you are set for the most stylish evening in, with the only problem being, you may never want to leave the house again!
I’ve spoken to the staff in all our stores and it seems most of our bets are on Danyl to win. Agreed? Let us know who you’re rooting for! Next week, we’re doing a Cheryl/Danni style special. To be continued…
Fake It!
Here at Fifi Wilson we don’t stock real fur in any of our stores. However it can be overly frustrating when we spot the most amazing pieces that our morals just won’t allow. All of this changed when we discovered Disaya’s Autumn/Winter 09 collection. Disaya have produced the softest, most realistic faux fur we’ve ever come across. As if that’s not enough, they’ve only used it on the coolest dresses, jacket and cardigan around. Literally everyone who has tried the dress on has walked out of the store with it (Aswell as a satisfied grin on their face!). In our Chelsea Green store a customer was trying on the cream version and a male passer by nearly knocked himself out walking into a doorway! It’s an absolute show-stopper.
If you’re more of a casual jeans type, check out the cream cardigan. It’s the most easy, understated way to wear this sumptuous softness.
The little bomber jacket is just so luxurious, you absolutely have to get down here to feel one! Be quick though, as we are selling them super fast, and even quicker with this sudden plummet in temperature. Plus you can wear it with pride, knowing no little bunnies have been hurt in the process. Choose between cream or black, it’s a guilt-free, gorgeous indulgence that will be in your wardrobe for years and years.
Warning: Likely to experience a lot of stroking from anyone in close proximity.
LBD
The Little Black Dress is a reliable essential and wardrobe favourite of most women around the world. Now winter is on it’s way the hunt for a fab party dress begins. The only problem with a little strappy number over the coming months is our great British weather. There is nothing more miserable than tottering around streets in the small hours (Or the wee hours as we say in Scotland!) trying to hail a taxi turning while turning an unbecoming shade of violet with your teeth chattering. With Gabby Harris’s dresses your prayers are all answered. You have all the glamour and syle but with the warmth and luxury of cashmere! I don’t think you can beat cashmere at Winter for keeping the cold out and sheer comfort on the skin. The nature of cashmere means that it is not bulky but fluid and Gabby Harris’s cashmere dresses are a perfect example making the most of this with her flattering cuts.
We have three Gabby Harris black cashmere dresses in Fifi Wilson just now. There is a great long sleeved waisted dress accentuated with a cream band and corsage at £397. A short sleeved one with a large cream bow at the neck £336 and a sleeveless v neck one with bow and a frill running down the front also £336.
What I particularly love about these dresses is how adaptable they are for dressing up or down. So at a time when we’re all being a bit careful with our pennies and want our clothes to work for us they really fit the bill. So where’s the party?

I can 100% rely on Fifi Wilson... I think their buying is supremely clever and you will always find something unusual and not bank breaking.
