Black BagWe have all had stars in our our eyes ever since these beautiful creations from Blush B-Lush hit our shop floor.

The combination of super soft leather and sequin stars is a dream come true for girls who like their accessories with a bit of attitude. The inverted silver pleating, chainlink strap and stud detailing really makes these stand out from the crowd.

From the cute floral print lining to the key charm on the side pocket, the inside detail is just as fab. These bags have it all, not only will they look amazing on your arm this season, but for many years to come as let’s face it we always need a little bit of sparkle in our lives.

Choose from rock chick black and silver or for a more subtle effect go for the grey and silver. Either way you can’t go wrong,  especially now that they have 40% off!

pearl bracelet

We’re all for bold statement jewellery to add interest to a simple outfit. However, we  often crave beautiful, understated pieces of daintiness that we can admire day in day out. We have just received the most darling miniature creations from Coco Kato that you have ever laid your eyes on.

What we really love about this jewellery, is it’s versatility. Beautiful tiny pearl or silver ball bracelets (£58/£36.50) and necklaces (£78) knotted on thread that you can wear without a care as to whether it goes with what you’re wearing. They also provide a wonderful solution to that all too familiar evening dress that needs a little lift but you don’t want anything too distracting. We have already had a lot of brides buying for themselves and their bridesmaids.

These pearly beauties are your magic touch. Cinders you will go to the ball!

Available in boutiques now and online from Saturday 12th June.

Wedding Wonder

Sonia Rykiel Gold and Blossom DressHands up who’s got a wedding to go to this year? Thought so. Rather than get your knickers in a twist worrying about fulfilling the perfect wedding outfit expectations, get out your laptop, sit back and relax.

This should be an occasion where you’re delighted to have a wonderful excuse to shop around and find a fantastic dress, not just for the special day but one you can wear again and again. We think you should be aiming to purchase something special and suited to the occasion, yet also something wearable, a great long term addition to your wardrobe.

So take a look through our SS10 stock on our website to see if you fall in love at first sight. We have fun, flirty, cool, quirky and refuse to buy into the stuffy, dull wedding garb. This is not a time to rush around stressed and impatient worrying, about what is right or wrong. It’s a time to get excited about a fab outfit and a fun occasion! If you love it, it feels great and isn’t white, it’s right!

We’d point you in the direction of Sonia Rykeil, Manoush, Missoni and See by Chloe. Or of course if you pop into any of our stores we will help you find the perfect little number for your style, shape and budget.

Think of it like this. Why don’t you aim to purchase a dress that you love to bits and has the potential to last even longer than the newlyweds vows.

aliceI don’t know about you, but here we have all been desperate to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie and it hits the big screen today, SO exciting! We can’t wait to delve into this wonderful fantasy world filling us with nostalgia. If you haven’t already seen the trailer, check it out now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjMkNrX60mA.

Makes you want an ‘Alice’ dress to wear for afternoon tea and cakes in the park doesn’t it?  And now we have all this beautiful sunny weather why not organize a lovely little gathering on your local green spot, bring your best china cups and nip to M&S for some cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches.  Now, while we can’t promise you a lead role in a Tim Burton movie, we can provide you with costume which is every bit as delicious. For example, pop into one of the boutiques to lay your eyes on our pink, silk Manoush dress – it’s a fairytale! Perfect for a tea party with any Mad Hatter.

Or how about our fast-selling Vivetta white collared Pierrot dress with the circle cut outs, great for a spring picnic. Or the See by Chloe cream collared beauty? Or then there’s Dress Gallery’s Carlotta, a cute 50’s looking pale blue cutie. All of these are sweeter than the cream cakes. Pop a bow in your hair, lay down a rug and start pouring.

A date with us is one you really can’t be late for, we’re selling out of pieces so quickly this season. Tick tock tick tock….

The Seven Stars

It’s not just interesting, well made clothes that we adore at Fifi Wilson.  After two years in London, I love the fact that nearly every week I’m telling the other staff about some new favourite cafe or pub and  I thought I’d share this weeks favourite.
Last Sunday I found a fantastically quirky, little pub in Holborn, not too far from our Covent Garden Store.  The Seven Stars is a tiny 400 year old boozer just behind the Royal Courts of Justice.  I came across this little gem by accident and was immediately intrigued by the odd window cabinet displays, one consisting of two old painted mannequin heads wearing barrister’s wigs and the other containing some kind of small animal skull wearing large pink glasses. Not your usual pub decor!
Inside are small, cosy tables with gingham table cloths and walls covered with old movie posters.  A wall of shelves behind the bar houses cat related bits and bobs including a great painting of a large black cat wearing a Jacobian ruff. I was happy to discover that this cat exists in real life and he really does wear a ruff!  His name is Tom Paine (Named after the writer and revolutionary Thomas Paine) and he is the very friendly pub cat. He has his run of the pub, even eating his food up on the bar, so it might not be the place for you if your not a fan of kitties. TP as he is nicknamed by the regulars, certainly has his fair share of fans including myself, and even has his own facebook page headed “Pub Cat Extroardinaire.”

The pub is owned and run by TP’s mum, the bold and boisterous Roxy Beaujolais.  She is the author of her own cook book and is responsible for the pubs rustic, simple home cooked meals. I haven’t had a chance to sample the food myself as yet, but it smells great.

This pub is a great place for a spot of  people watching.  You’ll find some real characters who frequent this place from barristers in pin-striped suits with their dogs, to musicians with their instrument cases. On the day I was in there were two ladies who looked liked they’d stepped right out from one of the 50’s movie posterss adorning the walls. Overall it’s a pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. So if you like your pub with a bit of character and like animals, I’d definitely recommend popping in to The Seven Stars.  It’s a great place to have a well deserved rest after a spot of shopping in our Covent Garden shop.

Treat Your Feet!

Yay! There is cause for celebration. The snow has cleared and the temperature has risen (If only very slightly) Banish the wellies, Ugh boots (Sorry! Ugg fans) and any other clumpy styles of footwear  to the basement. Put a spring in your step with these chic, elegant By Malene pointy shoes.

By malene shoeThey are flat, comfortable, simple and stylish. If you are going to treat yourself to something special this January, make sure it’s these.

Not only are they absolutely beautiful, but they’re practical and classic enough to be a real wardrobe staple for years to come. They will go with everything and anything, are incredibly comfortable with a lovely vintage feel to them. The pointy toe is a refreshing alternative to the everyday round-toed ballet pump. They will elongate your line, lengthen your leg and are one of  the most flattering shoe shapes around. Best thing about them? They are no longer the original price of £199 but £99.50!

Now slip them on and imagine yourself fluttering through fields of daffs listening to the birds and the bees….aaah!

Oh Brother…

Is it just us or has Celeb BB become the highlight of your January? If it’s not the tree of temptation, it’s Stephanie’s bitchy comments that have us hooked. Just like the Celeb house we have a huge mix and pride ourselves on the fact that there’s something for everyone. From girly, classic, adrogynous to quirky MC we have a huge variety that will keep all tastes satisfied.

Sov’s got a good edgy look with our bright green funky toywatch.

With Nicola’s penchant for all things girly she’d love our pink headphones.

Ivana is known in the house for never being seen without her make up, so maybe one of our cute metallic make up purses would interest her?

Even critical Stephanie would be lost for words if she saw our gorgeous Gabby Harris cashmere collection.

Despite Heidi’s slobby choice of garments in the house this past week, we at Fifi Wilson know that it is possible to be comfortable and stylish! We’re all for comfort but surely there’s no need for those offensive holey, ragged pieces of cloth Heidi decided to drown her body in. Our favourites include the YMC grey, cotton, softer than soft dress, the Set bat wing oatmeal cardigan and the Disaya faux fur cardigan.

Ok, so the whole of the UK may not be watching you 24/7 but you can still take pride in looking and feeling fabulous even if you are slobbing out in front of the TV with a family sized Galaxy. Never fear, for we’ve got just the things, but you’re going to have to be speedy, they’re lusted after even more than BB’s Corned Beef sandwiches.

With our next installment of celebrity mayhem just around the corner, pop into one of our boutiques or click onto our online store and browse through our cosy, comfy pieces perfect for watching any more ‘Hunk Off’ competitions – fingers crossed!

Going, Going…Very Nearly Gone!

saleI know they say ‘Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved….blah blah blah… and maybe that’s true but I’m afraid I can’t agree when it comes to clothes. I still drive everyone insane talking about the fabulous beige American Retro cardi with the lurex heart on the back and the fact that I’ll never be able to get my mitts on one pains me to this day. That was three years ago… but I’ve learned from my mistakes.

Right now, if you didn’t already know, it’s sale time. Every item of designer clothing in our stores is 50% off – we don’t mess around when it comes to sales. However, we thought we’d fill you in and let you know that every day we are selling out of lines and have had quite a few disappointed customers returning, cash at the ready only to find the coveted item has vamooshed. We opened our online store a few months ago and these online shoppers are a canny bunch and our stock is disappearing quicker than pleasantries on CBB. So if you’ve been umming and ahhing over something lovely we’re warning you, don’t leave it too late. Come and visit one of our boutiques or purchase online pronto. Daily we have customers asking if we can possibly get our hands on someting that we have sold out of, which is ney impossible.  So, this really is your last chance to pick up our wonderful Autumn/Winter 09 pieces from Worldwide designers such as Gabby Harris, Disaya, Le Mont St Michel, Manoush and Sonia at 50% reductions. We assure you that you shall get lots of wear out of all of our clothes and let’s be honest…. when do you think we’re next going to have a hot day?!

So take it from one who knows from experience and have a good scan at our sale rails/web pages or risk months or years of kicking yourself/lusting over what you can no longer have and I didn’t even start about the Laundry Industry sequin heart cardi and the Claudie Pierlot bow tops……….
