Saying you don’t look good in a hat is like saying you don’t look good in shoes!

Oh yes mustard! That’ll do… Mustard? Don’t let’s be silly. Now lemon, that’s different…
- The Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland
Fifi Wilson‘s new hatter LouLou Bontemps, is everything but mad, and my new idol! Her gorgeous hat designs can be admired at the Chelsea store, and will satisfy every ladies tastes!
From wonderfully fresh and summer-y light straw hats to classic man-ish check hats to flirtatious dark grey or black wool bowlers decorated with mink, ostrich feathers and wonderfully vintage-feeling brooches, Loulou’s collection is sumptuously unique and lavish! All hand crafted and made, her artistic hats are a must for every outfit and occasion, all year round!!
As Loulou so wisely quotes Coco Chanel “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different”
My collections are chic, sexy & timeless. Sharing my love for leather, antique fabrics & jewellery – I blend the contemporary & vintage look to create unique style statements. Women regard accessories as essential. Accessories are very important in creating & completing your own personal style. Each of my pieces are individual to their owner; creating her own style statement.
-Loulou Bontemps.
Whether you are attending a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, going out with the girls, hitting the town, or simply looking splendid, LouLou Bontemps creates hats for every imaginable occasion!
My personal favorite is a classic masculine check hat with a wonderful feather band that adds feminine style and beauty! I can totally see myself wearing it while stylishly picking up a coffee to-go and meeting some fabulous people for lunch (… dreaming up scenes featuring me and the hat!)
We all saw at the Royal Wedding earlier this year, how essential the right head-piece is. Whether it is the Queen getting it so perfectly right, or Eugenie going in a slightly more artistic direction. Audrey Hepburn’s scene at the horse races in My Fair Lady, would have been nothing without the glamorous hat collection, and we all adore the Parisian casual chic hats Alexa Chung seems to be able to throw on and look fab in. It mixes up your outfit and style and allows you to play and experiment with new looks. Fashion is a kind of communication. It’s a language without words. A great hat speaks for itself.
I for one, look up to woman in hats. Woman who are insecure or unsure about who they are, will never wear a hat. Strong and confident personalities pull off hats, and it is something that I admire.
Be bold and brave and daring, be a woman!
“Women are vain. They think they look better in hats–if they have any sense.” (94-year-old Louisa Hagood).

Immense and red
Above the Grand Palais
The winter sun appears
And disappears
Like it my heart will disappear
And all my blood will go
Go look for you
My love
My beauty
And find you
There where you are
- Immense and Red by Jacques Prevert
Looking for soft, comfortable and timeless Tees and dresses you can wear all year round, layer up and basically sleep in if you wanted to? Des Petits Hauts allows you to shine with that French casual glamour and feel luxuriously cozy and easy at the same time.
Inspired by the poetry of Jacque Prevert and Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Des Petits Hauts manages to lure everyone into a magical world of fantasy and incredibly petite detail. Their love of stars echoes throughout their entire collection, adding liveliness and charisma to basic cotton pieces.
The Parisian designers aim to create ‘little tops- but not just any tops’, and accomplish this effortlessly.
Their collection has grown from Tees way back when into coats, dresses, cardigans, and shorts that can be admired and adored and taken home at your beloved Fifi Wilson store now! Des Petits Hauts Fall/Winter is not yet shoppable the Fifi Wilson online store, but visit the Chelsea or Covent Garden stores in London and you will not be let down!
Feel like a Parisian Star this Fall/Winter season and stay comfortably chic in the newest collection of Des Petits Hauts!
Take care of the sense, and the sounds will take care of themselves
-The Dutchess from ‘Alice in Wonderland’
Must See!
I don’t know about you, but here we have all been desperate to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie and it hits the big screen today, SO exciting! We can’t wait to delve into this wonderful fantasy world filling us with nostalgia. If you haven’t already seen the trailer, check it out now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjMkNrX60mA.
Makes you want an ‘Alice’ dress to wear for afternoon tea and cakes in the park doesn’t it? And now we have all this beautiful sunny weather why not organize a lovely little gathering on your local green spot, bring your best china cups and nip to M&S for some cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches. Now, while we can’t promise you a lead role in a Tim Burton movie, we can provide you with costume which is every bit as delicious. For example, pop into one of the boutiques to lay your eyes on our pink, silk Manoush dress – it’s a fairytale! Perfect for a tea party with any Mad Hatter.
Or how about our fast-selling Vivetta white collared Pierrot dress with the circle cut outs, great for a spring picnic. Or the See by Chloe cream collared beauty? Or then there’s Dress Gallery’s Carlotta, a cute 50′s looking pale blue cutie. All of these are sweeter than the cream cakes. Pop a bow in your hair, lay down a rug and start pouring.
A date with us is one you really can’t be late for, we’re selling out of pieces so quickly this season. Tick tock tick tock….

It is like being in the bedroom of a glamorous girlfriend where you keep spying lovely things you want to try on.
