Day In, Day Out Wear It All About!

Hey there!  Hope everyone is coping with the fall in temperature. If you’re one of our lovely regulars you will know that we stock lots of unique, glam pieces to keep you cosy during these Winter months. However, it doesn’t stop there. We’ll forgive you for being distracted by the show-stoppers (Eg. Disaya pearl and faux fur dress and jacket) but our everyday, practical knits are just as fab.

For example, the little Odd Molly dusky pink jersey has great attention to detail. Check out the fringed pockets and tie at the neck. A lady who bought one yesterday tried it with her pale blue diesel jeans and cream converse, she really did look amazing, in such an everyday outfit too!

The oatmeal SET cardi is perfect for lazy days when you just want to throw on something comfortable and go. It’s simple, chic and so easy with jeans.

If you’re a ‘cold’ person and ‘indoor coat/jacket wearer’, you ought to have a look at our By Malene zip jumpers. I’ve been wearing mine all week and it has kept me so warm I can’t tell you! Zip up the top zip and you are guaranteed to have a permanently warm neck- Heaven! Choose between the darker or lighter grey versions and wear with literally anything. Try skinny jeans, thick leggings, black skirt, tights and boots. If you want to go for a quirky look, team it with bright tights-fuschia or turquoise would look fab!

Bensimon have done a great cream knit basic jumper, and as usual they’ve created another simple yet incredibly flattering shape. This one creates a lovely bright and fresh winter look.

So please do continue to admire and coo over our bejeweled, bedazzling pieces, but make sure you don’t miss out on purchasing all of our wonderful everyday pieces.

Chezza v’s Danni

It’s that time of the week already. Yay! Get ready to snuggle up on the sofa and choose whether you want to go for Cheryl’s style or the Danni look this week. We’ve got a selection that would please each glam judge so all that you have to do is choose whose look has the style factor you love. There’s been huge media attention creating constant competition and polls between the girls on who looks best but we think they both look great in their own way. Both seem to come up with endless new looks yet Danni often opts for more rock-chick whereas Cheryl always looks groomed to within an inch of her life.

Let’s start with the beautiful, brunette Minogue sister. Our selection of  the Rose Manoush dress or shirt would look  fab on her. Unique and quirky, perfect for feisty females. We can just see her wearing them with dark nails, smokey eyes and frosty pink lipstick. We’ve got her sorted for the rest of the week too, not just live show outfits! For when the show’s over and it’s chilly outside, we reckon she’d rock the black Disaya faux fur jacket pretty well over a glam dress or with skinnie jeans and biker boots. For those of you who, like Danni, are fond of injecting a little attitude into their style, the Bella Freud jerseys are perfect and you’ll get a lot of wear out of them. The punky pink and black stripey one and the pink with the black love heart are effortlessly cool and very Danni. Team them with black jeans and a tough leather jacket. She’s a girl after our own hearts with her massive love of cool jewellery and the big metal cuffs are very her! They finish off any outfit and add some rock chick glamour. Be quick though Danni we’re selling out fast!

We all reckon glam Cheryl would absolutely adore our Disaya cream faux fur dress, can’t you just picture her in it? The Eros beige and black sequined dress would look great for the saturday night show, and just as fab for a special night out teamed with black opaques and patent platforms. For daytime comfort she’s a massive Sonia Rykeil fan and is often photographed  in the lovely Sonia pieces. The black fitted top with a gold button either side of the collar is right ‘up her street’. It’s a wonderful cut and is really flattering on a wide range of shapes and sizes. Alternatively the Antoni and Alison jumpers are just as lovely and quirky as Sonia’s. We can imagine Cheryl in the ‘shirt and tie’ one with a bright pink lipstick! She’s also a huge fan of Toywatches she loves the bright coloured fluo ones in particular. Check our site for colours and our stores for an even wider selection. To finish off any outfit make like Cheryl with a pretty headband. She adores ‘Deepa Gurnani’ headbands and has been spotted wearing them on numerous occasions, proving they look amazing with evening dresses and just as good with a laid back daytime look. We’ve currently got a handful left in our Chelsea shop.

Whoever’s style you rate more, we have got you sorted, day or night, dressy or casual. Now all you have to do is curl up on the sofa, computer on lap, clicking away to snap up your Danni/Cheryl favourite pieces from out gorgeous collection in the X-factor breaks. Or if you prefer just enjoy the shows this weekend then pop into one of our stores next week and have a trying on session with all our staff on hand.

Spooky Specials

Pumpkins lit, cauldrons brewing and Blockbuster’s Halloween selection saved as a ‘Bookmark’ on our laptops. We’re all reverting back to childhood this year and getting more excited than the super cool, laidback kids that grace our stores.

It’s that time of the year again, and whether you’re taking your offspring out to irritate fellow residents, hosting a ghoul infested gathering or staying in with lights off and a note on the front door informing that ‘The children are very ill, need sleep, please do NOT ring’, we have the clothes and treats to make this the most stylish scary night ever!

Check out all of our wonderful black beauties. Our wonderful retro style Elizabeth Lau dress above is glamorous yet practical with tights and boots. With  Gabby Harris cashmere winter warmers there is a style to suit all, with a sleeveless dress that is great layered or the full long sleeved one with the cream corsage. If you fancy being the most glamourous witch in your area, you simply must go for the faux fur Disaya dress or coat Check out our previous blog on Disaya furry goodies. If you’re lucky enough to be going to a great Halloween party, our By Malene strappy dress is just perfect. And you can guarantee you will wear it again and again. If you need a classic, versatile little black dress this season this is the one. It’s a really flattering shape on most figures and you will definately be pulling it out of your wardrobe again and again.

Oh, and if you are going to open your doors to little ghouls and ghosts, and they do happen to impress you with a talent (We can but hope!) then our Fifi Wilson sweet packets are the best reward or a perfect little gift to the host of a fabulous party. Trust us, they go down a TREAT!

Fake It!

Here at Fifi Wilson we don’t stock real fur in any of our stores. However it can be overly frustrating when we spot the most amazing pieces that our morals just won’t allow. All of this changed when we discovered Disaya’s Autumn/Winter 09 collection. Disaya have produced the softest, most realistic faux fur we’ve ever come across. As if that’s not enough, they’ve only used it on the coolest dresses, jacket and cardigan around. Literally everyone who has tried the dress on has walked out of the store with it (Aswell as a satisfied grin on their face!). In our Chelsea Green store a customer was trying on the cream version and a male passer by nearly knocked himself out walking into a doorway! It’s an absolute show-stopper.

If you’re more of a casual jeans type, check out the cream cardigan. It’s the most easy, understated way to wear this sumptuous softness.

The little bomber jacket is just so luxurious, you absolutely have to get down here to feel one! Be quick though, as we are selling them super fast, and even quicker with this sudden plummet in temperature. Plus you can wear it with pride, knowing no little bunnies have been hurt in the process. Choose between cream or black, it’s a guilt-free, gorgeous indulgence that will be in your wardrobe for years and years.

Don’t Worry Be Happy Disaya Dress

Disaya has plenty to make us smile. Not only does Disaya manage to produce some of the coolest clothes around, but they donate part of their proceeds to the Smiley World Association which fights against all forms of social exclusion. A smiley face motif has been incorporated into the cream lace on this season’s SS09 collection relating back to the ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ theme. There are strappy dresses, playsuits, and sailor tops in cream with black ric rac. This Smiley long sleeved Disaya dress was originally £238 but is now £119 with our great 50% reduction. Disaya Sorakraikitikul is St.Martins trained and previously designed for John Galliano. Her own collection was first presented in 2007 and immediately caught the attention of an international audience with her quirky prints. Already being worn by celebs such as Agness Deyn, Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Osborne (One of Fifi Wilson’s customers!) Disaya is a winner with spirited women whether young in age or simply young at heart and wait until you see the AW09 collection. Not only is it ridiculously cool – smart little dresses teamed with bomber jackets – but what excited us most is the best fake fur we have ever come across. We challenge anyone to tell the difference. Very exciting for our fur free Fifi boutiques!
