For the cupcakes:
Source: Magnolia’s Vanilla Cupcakes from Food Network
Yield: 24 standard cupcakes
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups (190 grams/6.5 ounces) self-rising flour
1 1/4 cups (160 grams/5.5 ounces) all-purpose flour
1 cup (2 sticks/227 grams/8 ounces) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups (400 grams/14 ounces) white sugar
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 cup (250 mL) milk
1 teaspoon (5 mL) pure vanilla extract
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 standard muffin tins with cupcake liners of your choice (24 total).
2. In a small bowl, combine the flours and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, on the medium speed of an electric mixer, cream the butter until smooth. Add the sugar gradually and beat until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Add the dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the milk and vanilla. With each addition, beat until the ingredients are incorporated but do not over beat. Using a rubber spatula, scrape down the batter in the bowl to make sure the ingredients are well blended.
5. Carefully spoon the batter into the cupcake liners ( to ensure consist cupcake sizes) and bake in middle of oven until tops turn golden brown and toothpick inserted into center comes out just clean (a few crumbs is okay), about 18 minutes.
6. Cool the cupcakes in tins for 15 minutes. Remove from the tins and cool completely on a wire rack before icing.
For the frosting:
Ingredients
3 sticks (340 grams/12 ounces) unsalted butter, softened and cut into cubes
5 cups (625 grams/22 ounces) confectioners’ sugar (icing, powdered)
2 tablespoons (30 mL) milk
2 teaspoons (10 mL) pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Method
1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, whip butter for 5 minutes on medium speed Butter will become very pale & creamy.
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix on low speed for 1 minute, then on medium speed for 5 minutes. Frosting will be very light, creamy, and fluffy.
3. Add touch of gel food colour, if desired and mix until blended.
4. Best used right away.

Seven Dials Shopping Evening & Betty Magazine Launch Party!
December 6, 2011 by Fiona Wood

For all of you, who missed Fifi Wilson’s shopping evening at the Covent Garden store last Thursday, here is a little re-cap!
As part of the Seven Dials Christmas Shopping Evening, Fifi Wilson offered a fabulous 20% off the new collection and some delish mince pies and sparkling prosecco! As if the evening wasn’t already glam enough, the lovely Betty Magazine celebrated their launch party at Fifi Wilson that evening too! Definitely an occasion to clink those glasses!
Even though she couldn’t be there in person to celebrate with us, one of our favorite designers, Elizabeth Lau, was there in spirit! Every customer that evening had the chance to win an adorable Lizzie Face Elizabeth Lau jumper! Hooray!
Although the evening was cold and very wet, I was so surprised when turning the corner into Monmouth Street, and delightedly seeing that the Seven Dials streets were decorated with pink sparkling lights and Christmas trees, reminding me of a Christmas Market I once went to in Nuernberg, Germany! (So beautiful!) There was even a random Santa Clause stood right out side Fifi Wilson wishing passers by a Merry Christmas! Awww!
Singing along to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and munching on mince pies, I definitely feel December has begun well! Here’s to hoping the Holiday Season will be jolly! Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner?? Where did the Summer go so fast? (At least thats what I keep thinking!)
Congratulations to Betty Magazine on their launch, the biggest Thank You ever to Elizabeth Lau for being her wonderful self
, and to everyone who helped make the event the success it was!
We look forward to seeing you in either our Fifi Wilson Chelsea or Covent Garden or beloved Edinburgh store soon! Bring on the Christmas shopping!

Board your Yacht in the Riviera, girls! Elizabeth Lau is here with her Spring/Summer 2012 collection to take you on a Summer holiday!
So we all adore Elizabeth Lau already, but with her Olive Oyl and Brigitte Bardot inspired Summer collection, I think our adoration has just mutated to undying, passionate obsession. ( At least mine has! )
I went to check out her collection at London Fashion Week, and was stunned by the cool, quirky knitwear! Her effortlessly chic collection works for every type of woman and every kind of wardrobe. Her two very conflicting muses, Olive Oyl and Brigitte Bardot, establish just the right balance of luxurious charm and eccentric coolness.
The nu-retro feeling we get from her collection works for casual summer days, vacations to the Cote D’Azur, midsummer parties and celebrations as well as nights out or in!
Check out her fashion video project featuring the drummer of the US Indie Band ‘The Like” Annie Monroe : Elizabeth Lau Spring Summer 2012 collection!
Although I am in love with her entire collection, and wish I could live in 100% Elizabeth Lau from now on, my personal favorites include her GOSH! appliqued jumper, the Life Saver appliqued & hand beaded jumper and her Pearly Princess hand beaded T-Shirt, which are more than gorgeous!
I proudly purchased her Heartbreaker jumper in grey and red from her last collection at Fifi Wilson in Chelsea last week, and have literally not taken it off!
The Lambswool is super soft and comfortable and the cut is so casual and cool! People compliment me on it where ever I go!
London Rocks!

Ah, Fashion Week has returned to the coolest capital once again. We take pleasure in supporting edgy, British designers and always have a fab selection of London labels gracing our rails. Check out Bella Freud, YMC and Elizabeth Lau. All doing it for the Brits in their own individual way.
Bella Freud creates gorgeous, quirky jerseys that just ooze effortless cool. Kate Moss is a fan, so if you want the ’London Look’, these beauties will do the job way better than any nail varnish. Soz Kate.
Unaffected by seasonal trends, you can’t go wrong with YMC who create intelligent clothing that’s both functional and modern.
Elizabeth Lau provides us with fun, happy clothes. Perfect for a little ‘Pick-me-up’ or ‘End-of-week-treat’!
So jump on the bandwagon and back the Brits. Your country needs you! (Tell me that’s not the best shopping excuse you’ve ever come across!)

Fifi Wilson has gained a large creative and celebrity customer base which includes Kelly Osborne, Andrea Corr, Liberty Ross, Kristin Scott Thomas, Sam Taylor Wood, Sharleen Spiteri, Jessica Lange, HRH Princess Eugenie, Jemima Kahn and Katy Perry.
